February 2021 - A message from Revd Janet

There are two booklets this month.

One is the usual “Month of Sundays” for February. In addition, February 17th is Ash Wednesday. This marks the beginning of Lent - 40 days set aside to focus on prayer, Scripture, fasting (if that is important to you) or giving up treats, and on repentance and reflection. This season leads us to Easter, at the beginning of April.

As a circuit we have decided to spend Lent thinking about what it means to be a Methodist, and we will do this by using material called “The Methodist Way of Life”; based on the four elements of “Our Calling” – worship, learning and caring, service, and evangelism.

The “Finding the Way” booklet gives much to think about on all these subjects. I hope you find it interesting. You might like to use it alongside Sunday worship during Lent to give you something to think about and pray about. The booklet can be found here

You can find other resources on "The Methodist Way of Life" on the Methodist Church website:

Why not spend some time asking yourself: Why am I a Methodist? And what difference does it make to my life?

Please keep your eye on our Facebook page, where you will find details of special services and study groups.

At the moment we do not know how or where we will be able to celebrate Easter, and the future days are still uncertain. We will leave that uncertainty in the hands of our loving and faithful God, and do whatever we can to seek and serve Him here and now.

Thank you for praying and caring for each other, and may God bless and keep you until we meet again,

Janet
